Inflation reached a four-decade high under Biden

Sen. Berger: ‘This visit is a desperate attempt to flip a 15-year low approval rating’

Raleigh, N.C. — Today, President Joe Biden will be in North Carolina to tout the fallacy that his administration’s economic policies have helped the state. Nothing could be further from the truth.

North Carolina’s robust job growth and designation as the best state in the country for business is the direct result of the tax cuts, pro-business policies, and state-funded infrastructure improvements enacted by the Republican-led General Assembly. It represents a massive turnaround from the decades of Democrat-led budgetary boondoggles that left North Carolina with a record $2.5 billion deficit.

Unfortunately, the economic policies coming from the Biden administration are so catastrophic that families across the country, even those in growing states like North Carolina, are struggling. The figures that can be attributed to “Bidenomics” include four-decade high inflation of 9.1%, the average price of gas, electricity, milk, and beef rising 28%, 30%, 23%, and 24%, respectively, and the current 30-year fixed rate mortgage average sitting 79% higher than what it was when President Biden took office.

While North Carolina Republicans are working to ease the pain, no amount of diligence from state government can fully block the financial hardship being forced upon America by the most unpopular president in recent memory.

“From shutting down energy independence to making trips to the grocery store unaffordable, the incoherence coming from the Oval Office has resulted in higher costs for families and businesses,” Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) said.

“You’d think with all the time the Biden administration has spent in North Carolina it would learn a thing or two about real economic success. That is sadly not the case, and the American people are stuck paying the tab for President Biden’s disastrous record,” Sen. Berger continued.

“This visit is a desperate attempt to flip a 15-year low approval rating.”
