Senator Berger Statements on Gov. Stein’s Vetoes
Raleigh, N.C. — Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) released the following statement after Gov. Josh Stein vetoed the “North Carolina Border Protection Act,” a bill sponsored by Sen. Berger:
“Today, Gov. Stein proved where his allegiances are. He’d rather prioritize his far-left donors and their dangerous open-border policies over the citizens of North Carolina who are desperately pleading for us to put an end to the illegal immigration crisis. I look forward to the Senate overriding his veto.”
Sen. Berger also released the following statement on Gov. Stein’s veto of Senate Bill 50, “Freedom to Carry NC,” a bill Sen. Berger co-sponsored:
“Law-abiding North Carolinians shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to effectively exercise their Second Amendment rights. It’s past time for us to join the majority of states that recognize Constitutional Carry. I look forward to the Senate overriding Gov. Stein’s veto.”
